Servo-driven hydraulics & key systems
How it works. On the Splendid Series, a servo motor drives the hydraulic pump. The pump runs at variable speed and builds pressure only when the ram needs it, instead of running a fixed-speed motor all the time. Servo/proportional valves from HAWE or Atos control each side of the ram (Y1 and Y2), and linear scales on both sides measure ram position so the CNC can keep the two cylinders in sync.
- Energy savings: Energy Mission rates the servo package at about 40% energy saving, and up to 40–45% lower power use than conventional hydraulics.
- Low noise: quiet, smooth operation, because the pump isn't running at full speed between strokes.
- Less oil heat: stable oil temperature, which Energy Mission notes helps keep bend accuracy consistent through a shift.
- Speed: high-speed beam moves with less power: 160 mm/s approach and return, 10 mm/s pressing.
- Accuracy: linear-scale Y1/Y2 sync, ball-screw backgauge on LM guides, and quick-release clamps with taper wedges for local angle adjustment.
- Cybelec control: the CybTouch 12 PS calculates bend allowance, punch depth and crowning pressure, and generates bend sequences automatically.
